The school provides a safe, enjoyable and caring environment for children in which they can explore many areas such as art, music, sports, technology, cooking and computers. We also provide a peaceful setting for homework.
They have full and part time spots available through 5th grade for children in TK / Kindergarten. At winter break, spring break and some holidays, they're still available. They're closed on major vacations.
The school offers a program that can assure children’s parents. They give quality care to children before and after school. Their operating hours are from 7 AM till 6 PM. We serve a nutritious breakfast for $2.50/day or $30/month from 7 AM till 7:45 AM. The breakfast menu is posted in Kitchen A. They release the kids at 8 AM, so they can arrive at their class on time at 8:05 AM when the first bell rings. TK / Ks and 1st graders head to the classrooms.
When the bell of dismissal rings we're ready for our kids. In front entrance, they sign in and place their backpacks and belongings in their cubbies. We wash their hands and get snacks. Next is outdoor play, where every child will have a teacher "all-check" to clear in with. It provides additional protection, as well as a member of staff who will be the tutor of each boy. Around 3:15 p.m., we call 1st–5th grade homework. Homework Club has two separate spaces, so our kids have a peaceful working environment. We don't review homework for students, but our teachers are available for help with homework and will help keep them focused on their school work.
The kids still on the playground check in with their "All-Check" teacher at 3:30 p.m. and meet to hear what we've planned for the day. Activities include science, engineering, photography, open media, sports, games outside, and more. When kids return from school, they participate in the many things we've organized. Around 4:30 pm we sweep and enjoy another snack. The kids go outside until around 5:30 pm. We may then focus on additional assignments or enjoy projects & top games at the table. At 6 p.m. our center is closed.
This school handles homework successfully. Teachers use homework to solidify concepts taught in the classroom, instead of introducing new ideas through homework to a child. The homework, too, tends to be based on ideas rather than pure mindless repetition.
This school promotes strong character, such as honesty, compassion and respect, in its students. The school also stresses character traits and promotes those characteristics in a public manner. Character-building is obviously a tenant of this school, which makes a difference in how many children are behaving.
