The Golden Skate

The Golden Skate is a San Ramon's Family Entertainment Center is a full-service roller skating rink for kids of all ages. They offer daily open skate sessions, lessons, a hockey program and more!
Talk about a throwback to your childhood! You would think this place has been aesthetically updated since the 90s and you will definitely love how it looks like! Which actually made this the perfect location for any 30th or 40th 90s themed birthday party! There are two kinds of skate rentals for you here- inline skates or quads. If you are really trying to throw it back go for the quads! Before you come it is good to be aware that there is an entrance fee as well as a skate rental fee. All together it was 14 dollars. A little pricey, but the experience will be worth it.Â
First time? Wednesday Adult Night (18+ years old), from 7:30 to 10 PM, you will enjoy chilling or hang-out with your friends or loved ones. Wednesday evenings are where you catch a glimpse of a true skating community and how fun and artful this pastime really can be.
Try to visit the Sunday afternoon session (all ages), from 3:45 pm - 6:00 pm. Most people would recommend a time slot like this for those who want more space to practice and less pairs of eyes to watch you fall. There are a lot more kids in this session, of course, but still some adults, too, who have varying skill levels.
There's a 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm session afterward that has all-you-can-eat pizza and unlimited soda included in your $17 admission. At only $3 more than the regular price of admission, I can see this being a pretty popular/busy time.Â

If you have HBO, check out the United Skates documentary. A lot of these rinks are, unfortunately, shutting down. We really hope The Golden Skate sticks around!
