San Ramon Golf Club is an urban oasis, a stunning 18-hole public Tri-Valley golf course cut into the suburbs just off I-680 and San Ramon's Alcosta Blvd .. San Ramon Golf Club, which is just as difficult and enjoyable to play, rewards professional golfers and those less professional alike.
We are known for our excellent greens, which are often beautifully manicured and smooth-rolling; and on the 9th hole, our island green. You can quickly walk to the golf course or hire power carts. No matter how you play, in less than four and a half hours, the pace will get you off the course.
The Royal Vista Golf Course is a 6,500-yard course, with a blues par 72. The whites are approximately 6,200 meters. Blue scores are at 71.1 with 122 slopes. Seniors are $20 throughout the week, veterans are $27, and everybody's $37 for a round of 18 holes of golf on the weekend. One golf cart can be rented for $24.
In answer to a number of questions about the course and its past, Mr. Reed said, "It is a very close golf course that runs across the construction of housing here in San Ramon. Precision is certainly a key to the tee and the green.
"Our signature hole is an island green of 11,000 square feet, really a huge target. But standing in the middle of the fairway it looks like a teacup. We extended the lake from the ninth round to the 18th making the finish even better. The two nines are fairly different. As you'll notice the front nine is fairly flat. The back nine does have some slight elevation, gains, and losses. Also, the fairways and greens on the back nine are a little bit larger, a little bit easier to get to."
If you like to practice hitting some balls, the first thing you'll notice is the convenient and thorough practice setup at Royal Vista. There are chipping and putting greens, and a wide range of drives. $4 for a 40-ball bowl, or $7 for a 90-ball bowl. It's a hell of a deal with so few driving ranges in this area.
The Royal Vista is managed by Waterhouse Inc., which owns four golf courses in southern California, and the other three.
