The Berkeley Games have provided the Greater Bay Area with games, toys, activities, gifts and much more in between for almost 4 decades. Thanks to their long history and deep stock, they may have the largest game selection on the West Coast, and they can help you find just about any game you're looking for. Their store is packed wall-to-wall with board games, puzzles, card games, darts, outdoor items, novelties, and a lot more.
They have 4 gaming rooms (currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic) where you can join a regular event such as Magic: Gathering Tournaments, Dungeons & Dragons Campaigns, Warhammer 40 K Squirmishes, and more. Or check with them in advance for availability of open gaming space and access to their Game Library.
Because that's the source of the hobbies they're making easier, they love having children in the store, introducing them to Euro-style games, role-playing and miniatures, and looking at their faces as they discover new things. And they're honored that so many parents think of the Berkeley Games as one of the things they're trying to do — a safe space where their children can explore and enjoy themselves without worry or fear.
Most of the children they come into contact with behave perfectly well when left to their own devices, and many know how to get in touch with their responsible adults in the event of an emergency — but not all of them. They are optimistically anticipating the impossibility of a business, but they are also realistically preparing for the unfortunate.
How To find Them
By Car
The nearest parking garage, the Telegraph-Channing Garage, gives you the first hour free of charge. It's convenient if you're attending an event, too, because the next 3 hours cost just $1 each. This garage has entrances to both Channing Way and Durant Ave., and it only takes a minute or two to walk.
By Public Transit
The Durant / Telegraph bus stop is conveniently located approximately 50 feet from our door, serving 5 different AC Transit bus lines. Information on the fare and schedule is available on the AC Transit website. If you're not within a bus distance, you can take the BART to downtown Berkeley station and the bus from there.
