Parenting a child who is experiencing emotional, mental, and behavioral health concerns can quickly become debilitating as fear and worry take over activities of daily living. Building a strong support system to reduce the contagious nature of stress and worry is one of the most impactful things we can do to help facilitate a more peaceful approach to navigating complex circumstances.

About Allyson Mayo:

Dr. Mayo is tireless in her approach to help families, communities, and individuals who are experiencing stress, sadness, and the consequences that come from emotional health disorders. At a time when we have epidemic levels of worry about our children and the devastating consequences of emotional health disorders, she brings a much-needed new approach to the work of behavioral health. She is known nationally for speaking on the new thinking and best practices in behavioral health with a cross sectional approach. Dr. Mayo is known to incorporate music, art, theater, nature, pets, and apps into her practice.

Dr. Allyson Mayo is a Doctor of Behavioral Health with over twenty years of experience developing new business strategies in cross sectional industries including Fortune 50 technology, healthcare, higher education, and local government programs. Dr. Mayo embodies an approach to work that includes diversity with a shared vision as a competitive advantage. She is the Executive Director of Providing Easier Access to Care Everywhere (PEACE) Project, founder of Behavioral Fitness and serves as the Chair of Mental Health on the Contra Costa County’s Family and Children Trust Committee.

She is a professor at the University of San Francisco’s, School of Nursing and Health Professions, Department of Population Health.  As a Doctor of Behavioral Health, she is currently addressing the biggest drug epidemic in history through initiatives on root causes of systemic public health problems and prioritizing workforce development.
